Why do we do the things we do?  2020 was a year of change, and like many of you, we had our share of Netflix, Hulu, Plex, and other streaming content.  I even changed over to Gigabit Ethernet from Xfinity with unlimited data.  Why?  Well, we found that we can chew up a LOT of data with streaming, working from home, YouTube, etc. Over the past 20 years, I've always enjoyed movies, music and home theater in general, and trust me - this is not about a $100,000 setup.  I'm all about bang for the buck when it comes to technology.  I found some awesome deals and wanted to share my experience in the process. Near the end of 2020, Adorama.com had a screaming deal on Jamo speakers.  I've heard of Jamo for many years, and know that Klipsch purchased Jamo back in 2005.  I was already running a 5.1 setup with an older Denon AVR-2113ci , JBL S-38II mains, JBL S-Center , JBL N24 rear surrounds, and an Outlaw Audio LFM-1 subwoofer.  It did the job, created the home theater experience w

Motorola S-10 Wirless Bluetooth Headset - got music? got calls? got it all!

One of the niceties that I purchased for myself to encourage better workouts is a wireless (Bluetooth) headset - the Motorola S-10.  These headphones fit snugly over your head, looping over your ears and the bulk of the unit hangs behind your head.

Pros:
  • it fits my noggin :) (always important)
  • good battery life
  • dual-earphones - usually good, but need to be cautious at times for listening
  • I can answer the phone via the headset
  • changing volume on the earset
  • changing songs via the earset
  • voice-dialing capable
  • NO cord! (yay!)
Cons:
  • pricey (~$80)
  • dual-earset not really 'legal' in a car
  • not noise cancelling - more like a wind tunnel - but good if you're not moving

Overall, these have really helped my fitness by giving me something to listen to, and know that calls are coming in while I'm out on the trails.  No cord really helps with not getting tangled up and/or whipping my iPhone because the cord got tangled.

Would I recommend them?  If noise cancelling is your primary concern, then no - but if you want a good headset without the need for cords and long battery life - these are for you!
